Answer

The University of Colorado hosts text message campaigns designed for fundraising, event invitations and stewardship. All campaigns comply with legal, contractual and institutional guidelines. Here is more information:

  • Text campaigns are managed in partnership with the System Team.
  • Messages include the university’s name and opt-out instructions.
  • Recipients will not receive more than one campaign message per month or one general text per quarter.
  • Texts are only sent between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. in the recipient's local time zone.
  • All opt-out and data update requests must be honored and recorded with the appropriate university department.
  • Active students are not contacted without approval, per FERPA guidelines.
  • Only U.S. residents are contacted, following state and federal regulations.
  • Campaigns respect do-not-call and do-not-solicit preferences.
  • Text message data, including opt-outs and responses, are logged for compliance and reporting.
