Benson Society

The Benson Society celebrates the University of Colorado's most generous philanthropic partners who have committed $1 million or more in lifetime giving to CU. Their passion and vision for what matters to them are essential to advancing vital areas of our society: student success, research and discovery, health care, entrepreneurship and diverse communities. Established in 2017, the Benson Society salutes former CU President Bruce Benson and former First Lady Marcy Benson for their personal and professional dedication to philanthropy.

2024 Benson Society Gala

We enjoyed seeing our Benson Society members who joined us on Saturday, April 27, for our 2024 gala. We also missed our members who couldn't attend. Our emcee, CU Denver student and Student Government Association President Bria Combs, guided us through stories of student success that have taken shape on the university’s campuses, including those of painter Max Rowe, singer/songwriter Katie Yeager and Brothers of Brass trombonist Nate Bitter. CU President Todd Saliman also saluted Marcy and Bruce Benson for their continued commitment to philanthropy at CU.

An uncommon commitment to the common good

Before Colorado was Colorado, there was a profound spirit of discovery, curiosity and unexplored wonder. It was then that we harnessed our passion for adventure and forged paths toward exhilarating futures.

The most generous philanthropists who invest in the University of Colorado today propel this journey forward, setting our world on a course toward infinite possibility.

Our journey continues today, thanks in large part to their generosity, passion and vision. At the heart of their investments is the desire for a better future filled with top talent, boundless innovation, immense opportunity and strong communities. Their generosity is truly an uncommon commitment to the common good.
