John Wahr Endowed Memorial Award Fund
To provide stipends for graduate and undergraduate students enrolled in the Department of Physics at UCB, who express interest in pursuing careers in physics of the earth, planets, atmospheres, oceans, or space in memory of Professor Wahr.
John M. Wahr (PhD ’79) was a prolific scholar, teacher, and mentor for over 30 years in the Department of Physics. Revered for his commitment and kindness, John’s dedication to the sciences, his family, the outdoors, and music left an enormous impact on his students and colleagues.
This fund will celebrate John’s outstanding research career and his seminal contributions to many areas of geophysics and geodesy. Wahr Award recipients will embody the scientific commitment and inquisitive passion for life John Shared with all who crossed his path.
