Genevieve McVey Wisner Memorial Scholarship Fund
To provide undergraduate and graduate scholarship awards for underrepresented students enrolled in the College of Music at the University of Colorado Boulder, in honor of Genevieve McVey Wisner.
In 2022, the CU Boulder College of Music created this Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion scholarship to honor the legacy of Genevieve McVey Wisner. She became the first Black graduate of the College of Music in 1940 with a bachelor’s degree in music education, followed by a master’s degree in 1944 at age 42.
