Barney Ford Fellowship Fund

To provide aid for students enrolled in the Graduate School of Business in order to increase diversity, in honor of Barney Ford.

Why Barney Ford? The fellowship fund is named after Barney L. Ford (1822- 1902), who was a leading Denver citizen and pioneer of free enterprise in the American West. A former enslaved person from South Carolina, Barney escaped at age seventeen, taught himself how to read and write and achieved great business success, becoming the most noted caterer and restaurateur in the Rocky Mountain region. Mr. Ford was also very action in civic and education causes. The Barney Ford Diversity Benefit is our way of maintaining a tradition that serves to carry on his legacy.
